Vineyards

Rombauer Vineyards are at the heart of our “Joy of Wine” philosophy and form the foundation of the style that defines our wines. From our own vineyards and long-term carefully managed vineyard sites across California’s most distinguished winegrowing regions, we draw the character, quality, and consistency that make Rombauer unique.

Our vineyards span a diverse range of climates – from cool, ocean-influenced coastal areas to warm inland hillsides. Each site is thoughtfully selected and farmed with great attention to detail, long-term sustainability, and the purest expression of terroir.

Working with our own vineyards allows us to maintain full control over quality at every stage – from planting and vineyard management to harvesting at optimal ripeness. This approach is a natural extension of our family philosophy, rooted in respect for the land, patience, and a commitment to excellence.

Sustainability is an integral part of this commitment. Our vineyards and winery are certified under Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing and Napa Green programs, reflecting our responsible approach to land stewardship, water use, and energy management. These certifications are not a final goal, but a continuous commitment to improving how we farm and protect the land for future generations.

Carneros

Our vineyards in Carneros lie in a cool region influenced by the Pacific Ocean and San Pablo Bay. Morning fog and ocean breezes slow ripening and allow for refined aromatics and natural freshness. These vineyards are the source of our expressive Chardonnay, known for its balance, elegance, and structure.

Napa Valley

In the heart of Napa Valley, our vineyards produce some of our most distinctive Cabernet Sauvignon. Warm, sunny days combined with cool nights create ideal conditions for deeply structured, complex wines with rich, ripe fruit expression.

Sonoma County

Our Sonoma County vineyards benefit from strong maritime influence and diverse microclimates. These sites are especially well-suited for Sauvignon Blanc, producing wines with vibrant freshness, precision, and lifted aromatics.

Sierra Foothills

Located in a warmer, drier region with higher elevation, our Sierra Foothills vineyards include old vine plantings that yield concentrated Zinfandel. These wines are defined by intensity, spice, and expressive fruit character.

Santa Lucia Highlands

In the cooler Santa Lucia Highlands, our vineyards are ideally suited for Pinot Noir. The combination of coastal influence and long growing seasons results in wines with finesse, bright acidity, and elegant structure.
