About us

Rombauer Vineyards was founded in 1980 by Joan and Koerner Rombauer in California’s Napa Valley, with a vision to craft wines that bring joy to the table and bring people together. From the very beginning, our winery has been rooted in family values, hospitality, and a deep respect for the traditions of food and wine.

Our “Joy of Wine” philosophy reflects the belief that exceptional wine is an essential part of shared experiences. This spirit is inspired in part by the family legacy of Irma Rombauer, author of the legendary Joy of Cooking, whose influence continues to shape our approach today.

Rombauer is best known for its iconic Carneros Chardonnay, as well as Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir from carefully selected vineyards across Napa Valley, Sonoma County, and the Sierra Foothills. Each wine reflects the character of its origin, meticulous vineyard work, and our enduring commitment to quality.

Equally important is our responsible approach to the land. Sustainable viticulture, thoughtful stewardship of natural resources, and long-term care for our vineyards are integral to our philosophy and our commitment to future generations.

More than four decades later, Rombauer remains a family winery that brings together tradition and innovation to create wines meant to be enjoyed, shared, and celebrated.
